About Us

Ann and Craig Clark went to Thailand in 1997 to visit their oldest son who was teaching English at Santisuk English Center. One result of their trip was Thai Thaim.

Thai Thaim began a pilot teacher exchange with the Thailand Ministry of Education in 1999. Seven school districts and four universities in Minnesota have participated in the teacher exchange.

A student leadership development program began in April 2001, in cooperation with Bethel University. While in the U.S., Thai students live with U.S. families, attend classes in conversational English, learn about U.S. culture, participate in a service project, meet with Asian-American leaders and introduce the Thai culture to Americans.

A partnership was created with Tak Noi 2village in 2003 to help them learn about new concepts in agriculture, money management, health, nutrition, economic development and organic gardens.

Bachman’s of Minneapolis generously donated seeds for family gardens. By November, the garden project produced a combined savings of three years' income, better nutrition for their Kindergarten, new income for all families and a reduction in the use of alcohol.

2005 began a new program intro-ducing a variety of pigs that have large litters and lean meat. Improvements were also made to existing catfish ponds.
